Through flowers, art, words, and space, I gently offer a small light of harmony to those who encounter my work. Harmonia Mikako Ikeshima — Artist Rooted in Nature’s Colors Born in Morioka, Iwate, and now based in Tokyo, Mikako Ikeshima’s artistic journey began amid the breathtaking beauty of Japan’s natural world—where swans gather, constellations dance, and each sunrise and sunset reveals a palette of fresh wonder . Influenced by early brushes with art at her aunt’s art supply store, she began painting at the tender age of five . After studying psychology, counseling, and philosophy, and earning a degree in Creative Technology in 2010, Mikako merged her fascination with nature and human emotion. She later founded Bourgeon Co., Ltd. in 2013, designing floral and spatial compositions for international venues—infusing color, light, and meaningful words to harmonize environments . Her work contemplates the balance of yin and yang—light and shadow, front and back—as integral parts of being human. She paints with deep respect for nature—flowers, animals, the air and earth—seeking a world where transcending divisions brings peace, and where colors endure across centuries . Whether through canvas or landscape, Mikako adds words to light and wind—invoking gratitude, tranquility, and a vision of a beautifully reborn Earth.
